Town of mulberry

This photo of my cousins was taken in Gulbahar, Afghanistan in 1950. Gulbahar is located 76 km above the nation’s capital, Kabul. Gulbahar, a place I visited in my childhood, is a small town filled with mulberry trees. Some would even say that they were the best in the whole country. Although I have not been to Afghanistan in many years, eating a mulberry today takes me back to the small town of Gulbahar, with its beautiful rivers and lush sceneries.
