Title
Kim’s graduation
Description
I have been living in Escondido, CA since 1990. I was born in Queretaro, Mexico. It was a big challenge for me to learn a new language and also to adapt to a new culture. I was highly motivated to start a new chapter of my life in this country. At the beginning, I went through a cultural shock. Here, I got married and had two kids: Blake and Kim. I am very proud of my kids, they meet high expectations and have achieved great things. However, I want to share my happiness because my daughter is the first generation in my family to attend college. She got a full ride to Duke University. Also, she graduated this past year from Escondido High School with honors. My kids have seen me as an example of how to be brave and face challenges head on. Even though I love my hometown, my home is Escondido because it was here where I created a life and raised my kids.
